The difference in the structure of the pores of the PP membrane compared to other filter media used in tangential filtration (such as ceramic cartridges) ensures less filtration
aggressive, more delicate, so that the organoleptic and physicochemical characteristics of the wine are better preserved.
The special design of the filtration modules, together with the dynamics of the liquid flow in the system, minimizes the mechanical and thermal effects that are exerted on the wine during this process by 40 - 50%, and increases the capacity for self cleaning of the membranes.
The backwashing of the membranes is carried out using filtered wine (it is usual to use compressed air) thus avoiding oxidation of the wine and possible microbiological contamination from atmospheric air (unless sterilizing filters are used in the air compressor). If desired, the tanks and hoses can be previously inerted.
